    Masterclass Diploma

Participants in our Masterclasses become part of a cohort of creative peers to undertake a professional development journey led by world-class producers that expands and deepens their practice. Through a structured course delivering practical skills and tools, production leadership development and effective peer learning it connects local needs to best practice to cement the foundations of a creative place. Aimed at project / organisation leaders seeking to improve process and workflow, and mid-career producers seeking a step-change in their careers, these courses comprise a programme of several 3-5 day learning experiences over 3 months that equip learners with a comprehensive creative production toolkit, an expanded international network and a new peer group for professional support.

  • Short Courses

Our short courses take place over 1, 3 or 5 days giving participants the opportunity to develop a production idea or their practice with the support of our training team and peers. These workshops invite producers to share an idea with a small group of people and be supported through our online classrooms and coaching to develop the vision, their creative thinking and networks alongside getting hands on experience with practical planning tools. Our short courses can be structured to meet the needs of your place and people ensuring that knowledge and skills gaps are addressed quickly and efficiently as well as embedding the right tools in your local creative sector to ensure scalability, continual efficiencies, and maximum scope for well-managed creative practice.

Delivered in a half-day or single day, these programmes distill the core learning of our other programmes into a sprint. An engine for creating your place

Our creative producer training ensures that no matter what the scale of your town, city, development or project the skills to envision, develop, fund, realise and deliver creative programmes are rooted, authentic and sustainable.

From small market towns to metropolitan cities, the importance of a thriving cultural economy is central to making a liveable place.

Creative Producers are the glue that holds together the cultural economy, combining the skills to understand and connect the needs of residents, land-owners, investors and local authorities with artists, musicians and creative communities. They are the essential driver of what keeps public space alive, an engine for your place.

The role of creative producers

A skilled creative producer can translate the measures of success of a project or place into an action plan that manages the risk of creative practice and aligns policy and strategy with a realistic and authentic delivery.

They are the architects of place-based activity, able to identify constraints and opportunities, assess and navigate both creative and practical risk, attract investment, develop markets and audiences, whilst developing ideas with communities and artists that meet their needs. Above all creative producers are driven by a passion for taking ideas from the drawing board to reality with ambition, flair and attention to what makes your place unique.

Our courses support creative producers at all levels to expand their practical, strategic and creative skills, learn from creative leaders and best-practice, and become part of our national and international alumni network.
